ISO 15189 Medical Laboratory Accreditation

ISO 15189 Medical Laboratory Accreditation is the international standard laying down the requirements for the quality and technical competence of medical laboratories. The management system of clinical laboratories, the competence of personnel, the calibration of devices, sample processes, the accuracy of analyses and the reliability of results are among the principal subjects of that standard. In public procurement, ISO 15189 accreditation may be required in medical laboratory service procurements and in biochemistry, microbiology, genetic analysis, pathology and similar health services.
