Offence of Bribery

A person who, directly or through intermediaries, provides an advantage to a public official or to another person indicated by that official so that the official will do or refrain from doing an act connected with the performance of their duties, and a public official who, directly or through intermediaries, obtains an advantage for themselves or for another person indicated by them for the same purpose, commit the offence of bribery. Those who commit this offence are punished by imprisonment of from four to twelve years.
