Spare Part (Original Spare Part)

In public procurement, an original spare part is a spare part produced by, or produced on behalf of, the manufacturer of the principal material, vehicle, machinery, equipment or system specified in the tender documents; for whose production, quality control and testing the principal manufacturer is responsible; and which is packaged under its trade name and part number. It is therefore not merely a matter of stating a known brand name; the connection with the principal manufacturer, the part number and technical compatibility are sought together.
